Let design think ahead

"When designing, focus less on the object, and more about the future impact "

This is the message given by Tim Brown, CEO of the "innovation and design" firm IDEO at the famous TED conference last July

This famous designer remarks that the design profession is still preoccupied today with creating nifty, fashionable objects, when it has a much bigger role to play.

Balance between desireability, technical feasibility, economic vialibility is not enough. Design is Human centered thus should take care of all needs ! Thus it shoud not only think about ergonomics , but also about culture and context..

Brown calls for a shift to local, collaborative, participatory "design thinking",  to take an approach to design that digs deeper than the surface

An inspiring talk and thought!

See also there the great, funny, witty speech of famous Philippe Starck , also during TED
